Renne has taught computer science at Bayside High School since 2002 where he transformed a modest offering of Microsoft Applications and Introduction to Computer Science using Visual Basic 6 to a four year sequence of study in computer science. Students start with an appreciation of programming by exploring art, video games and physical computing using Python. In their final course students are given freedom to explore their own technology stacks as part of a five month project based learning activity where in groups of four students they create a product to address some unmet need. Renne fell in love with programming at an early age and looks for ways to inspire students to discover that same love. In his spare time he loves to program and explore emerging technologies. Renne became a Master Teacher for Math for America and has been involved with CS4ALL where looks to inspire new teachers to explore and teach programming.
